Northern Europe
Routes that moved evaders through coastal crossings, inland waterways, resistance safe houses and partisan networks.
- Norway: mountain guides, fishing crews, SOE teams and the Shetland Bus Route.
- Poland: couriers and partisan columns that channelled evaders south.

Belgium & France
Belgian and French lines linking occupied territory to Spain, the Basque Pyrenees, Marseille and sea extractions.
- Burgundy: French BCRA, supported by MI9, moved evaders from occupied territory to Spain.
- Comète: Belgian route from Brussels to the Basque Pyrenees.
- Marie Claire: Mary Lindell’s line ferried evaders south to guides.
- Pat O’Leary: Albert Guerisse’s line collected evaders from northern France into Marseille to move onwards to the Pyrenees and Spain.
- Shelburn: Organised by Lucien Dumais. Collected evaders from Northern France for sea extractions co-ordinated with the 15th Motor Gun Boat Flotilla.

French, Basque and Andorran routes carried evaders over high passes and into neutral Spain.
- Andorra: high mountain smugglers guided evaders over various routes into Spain.
- Spain: once in Spain evaders risked internment, before support arrived from the British Embassy.
