Rumes & Bachy
Rumes and Bachy, twin villages on the Belgian-French border, commemorate the recueils (gathering points) of the Comète Line. Helpers here sheltered Allied aircrew after the Brussels safe houses, guiding them across the frontier toward Valenciennes and the routes south. Modern trail stages pause at the Ferme Liberte memorial stone and the parish church honouring the Dermine and De Greef families.
